Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Lydia A — 01 Sep 2013
Spot on, although I thought it'd be a tedious one. Don't get how I could doubt Scorsese, because he always manages to succeed in every movie he makes. Dried out at the end of the movie and I also felt some kind of connection with the history of this big city even though I don't live in America.
Great performances, and I was a bit surprised it was Daniel-Day Lewis himself hiding behind that mustache and fake eye, he was reeeal creepy, didn't even recognize him at first! But figured out that somewhere in the movie ofc.
. I'm also impressed by Leo's ability to pick great movies throughout his career. I have big hopes for this actor, and he's actually one of my favs. THANK Y'ALL WHO MADE THIS MASTERPIECE.
P.S. Really. I have NOTHING to complain about. It felt pretty long maybe, but that wasn't such big of a problem to me, hehe..
