Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Justin S — 14 Feb 2014
The worst movie my favorite director of all time has ever made. It's so uneven. The story is way to big for one film, the editing is very choppy and distracting and the characters don't seem to have a lot of dimension.
It was said this was the movie Scorsese was dreaming to make for years. It seems he became overtly passionately and didn't look at his own film from an objective point of view. Mind you, the performances are fine, but acting doesn't save a film.
