Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Andrew J — 31 Mar 2014
"If only I had the guns, Mr. Tweed, I'd shoot each and every one of them before they set foot on American soil.".
Gangs of New York. Wow. Martin Scorsese gives us a full bloody spectacle of the captivating 1846 New York in his most ambitiously beautiful work yet. Daniel Day-Lewis leads the exciting cast with his iconic 'Butcher', a character to go down in the books. Incredible talent. Even the score was worthy of notice and the Oscar it won. All this mixed into a story of love for country and home. Honor and cruelty.
"These are the hands, that built America.".
