Review of Gangs of New York (2002) by Allen V — 06 Apr 2014
A Scorsese Classic . Highlighted by rugged and brutal performance of Daniel Day Lewis and the sturdy presence of Leonardo DiCaprio. Solidified by disturbing images of blood, death bodies and the Crucifix, with a great story to revisit as we ponder about the future our social structure will be.
This may be an unpopular opinion: whatever community we are in, we may be once New York, unstable and harsh, corrupt and merciless, torn in war, passionate of the land, uncertain about the future.
