Review of Gangs of New York (1938) by Henry F — 13 Jan 2014
A historical epic that shows the rivalry between gangs after the thousands of immigrants came to America. It's occasionally loses pace in it's 166 minute run time, but don't let that fool you.
Buffered by Day-Lewis' and DiCaprio's stellar performances, this is one you shouldn't miss. Director Martin Scorsese ("The Wolf of Wall Street", "The Aviator") has delivered yet another masterful film.
Mixing the violent crime world with a fascinating period, "Gangs" is one for the history books.
