Review of Gandhi, My Father (2007) by Aayush D — 01 Nov 2007
This was an excellent film. This was definitely the best performance (which I have seen) of Akshaye Khanna. I think that this movie gave a very real potrayal of Mahatma Gandhi...a man who excelled at being a father to a nation, but not to his own son. I appreciated that this film did not take sides and showed the struggles of both the father and son. The film depicted the mistakes that Gandhi made as a father without making him a villain. You really saw that.
Gandhi was a man of conviction who sought to always do the "right" and "just" thing, but he made mistakes along the way...a very similar struggle to us all.
