Review of Gandhi (1982) by Sergel C — 24 Sep 2011
To those that are planing on watching a movie about Gandhi, I strongly recommend this movie it is powerful and moving. Sir Ben Kingsley is just awesome as Gandhi. though his performance and the story portrayed, I have learned many things about Gandhi that I had not learned in school, Or else where.
I learned that Gandhi was not only as non-violent as it had been told but was also a very tolerant person when it came to other religions he believed that all people no matter what religion be treated equal.
He also believed that no matter what no one deserved to be controlled by alien countries. In this film you will see how when Gandhi started realizing things were not right he was a young lawyer he was mistreated for being colored which I was unaware that Indians were considered that.
When he arrived in south africa is where he started his protests against the british rule. Through his nonviolent protests he was able to achieve equal treatment fo indians in south Africa from british rule.
After his time in South Africa he returns back to India when he arrives he realizes that with british rule India will never be the country it should while controlled by another. Gandhi is an inspiration to all people whom wish to stand up to any larger adversary through non violence.
