Review of Gandhi (1982) by Niaz M — 28 Apr 2012
Mahatma Gandhi (Ben Kingsley) is a spiritual leader whose passionate dedication to Indian independence led to a remarkably beautiful achievement of humanism. This biopic is understandably sympathetic to Gandhi's cause and its comprehensive telling makes it an effective crash course on the man's life and work.
This film is also noteworthy for a moving score composed by Indian sitarist Ravi Shankar.
