Review of Gandhi (1982) by Lord N — 05 May 2010
Well, one problem with this film is that it's a tad over long. it definitely drags on in some points. all that to say, this was a really good movie. there were some brutal and amazingly powerful moments.
this movie would be worth nothing without Ben Kingsley's amazing performance. he did an amazing job. I thought that his (spoiler alert) assassination at the end was a great moment but the brutal but powerful moment was the massacre scene at a peaceful rally.
that was a difficult scene to watch at some points. One thing is that this is another one of those "actor directs so it wins" kind of movies. Richard Attenburough is a prominent actor. This movie was still really good though.
The acting was amazing the plot was powerful and it was an overall good movie Final Verdict: Close Call. this one has some heavy competition with Tootsie.
