Review of Gamera: Guardian of the Universe (1995) by Kevin E — 22 Jan 2010
The 1960's Gamera tuned into a kid's show far earlier than Godzilla did, but the rebirth of the character changed that. Gamera turned out to be the protector of man. This film is a fond look back at the monster movies of yesterday.
The special effects are just good enough to suspend our belief...for just a moment. The story is simple and believable. It brings back to life a character that is the exact opposite of Godzilla (different movie companies).
If one is a fan of such films, one will enjoy this one.
