Review of Gamer (2001) by Jim K — 12 Nov 2010
A grim look at a possible future where gaming is taken to a new level. A majority of the movie is spent in a live action version of Counter Strike where Gerard Butler channels Leonidas in 300. There is a slight story hidden in all of the action that is summed up in the last 15 minutes (I think they forgot there was supposed to be something besides action).
The funniest moment was when Michael C. Hall lip-synchs Sammy Davis Jr. and has mind controlled back up dancers. Overall, a lackluster action movie that fails to actually have a message.
