Review of Game Change (2012) by Niloo R — 27 Dec 2012
A very interesting film. of course, as a tv movie it didn't live up to the filmic standards of a feature, but for what it was, it was very well done, mostly thanks to the cast. julianne moore was phenomenal as sarah palin, both in terms of her performance and physical appearance, to the point where at certain points, I really believed I was looking at palin.
woody harrelson and ed helms were great in their supporting roles as well. the film was very informative and interesting in terms of highlighting the palin campaign, but as a self-contained story about a group of characters, it had some holes to fill.
I felt at times, the characters became stock versions of themselves, and that the story wasn't paced properly - it felt too rushed, so that we didn't always understand why characters (namely pailn) behaved the way they did.
but again, i'm nit-picking because i'm comparing it to a feature film. as a tv movie, this is probably the best i've seen. a thoroughly enjoyable and informative watch.
