This film had the potential to be so much better than it is. the Coen bros script is sharp, but is not always given the chance to shine. The jokes are hit and miss, mainly due to the cast getting the tone wrong.
Alan Rickman is excellent, Colin Firth is Ok, Cameron Diaz is dire. There are great moments, the segment in the Savoy with the Ming vase is very funny. Watch this film, but wait till it's shown on tv, save your money.
