Review of Galaxy Quest (1999) by Rcavey92212 — 15 Jul 2020
Who doesn't love this Star Trek spoof. It's smart, energetic, creative and inspired. It centers around the stars of an old sci fi tv show in which they starred as the crew of a spaceship exploring the galaxy. One day after a convention the leader played by Tim Allen is taken up to space by aliens who discovered the episodes and consider them historical documents. They are locked into a war with another species who wants to wipe them out completely. He returns to earth and enlists the rest of his cast to come along. At first they treat it like fun but soon realize the consequences of their actions. The movie is so fun and imaginative and the performances from Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman and Sam Rockwell are beyond excellent. Budget: $45M.
Box Office: $90.
