Review of Galaxina (1980) by Gabriel K — 12 Dec 2006
It?s the year 3008 and a police android named Galaxina, who just happens to look like a Playboy bunny, has an adventure through deep space.
Ah yes, B-Movie all the way. The acting is really bad. It?s not tongue in cheek, it?s tongue all the way down the throat, choking to death acting. The movie score is also very bad. It is bad enough to bring several winces out of me.
It distracts from the film at many points. The SFX are not that bad, considering this is an early 1980s movie. The effects are far from amazing or cutting edge, but they do get the job done in most cases.
The story is also adequate, although it contains a few plot holes. The bottom line is this was filmed and released as a showcase for Dorothy Stratten?s body and questionable acting ability and it shows.
Unless you are a die hard sci-fi fan, this one won?t interest you at all. If you ARE a die hard sci-fi fan, you may find this one comically interesting..
