Review of Gabbeh (1996) by Matt M — 16 Mar 2013
From an Iranian elderly nomadic couple's carpet (called a Gabbeh) emerges a young woman who tells them the story of her clan. An original look at life and love in the Iranian traditional sense. However it is as poetic and colourful as it is lost in its own preciousness, and the first half of the film is certainly more appealing than the second one, where its structure starts to crumble.
