Review of Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs (2008) by Scott P — 24 Jun 2008
I am a huge fan of Futurama. I have purchased every DVD and watch them on a regular basis. I quote the show in conversations with my friends on an almost daily basis.
So keep that in mind when I say: This movie is horrible. Pick any episode of Futurama and it is an order of magnitude better than this movie.
I wasn't sure what message this movie was trying to get across. Is it a commentary about religion? If it is, it is rather toothless. Is it about relationships? Any episode concerning Leela and Fry made a better point.
For a show that left so many unanswered questions after its cancellation, this movie decides to ignore them all and tell a story that makes no sense. For a movie sequel that is supposed to be a continuation of Bender's Big Score, it seems to ignore the previous movie completely.
Bleh.
