Review of Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder (2009) by Ian W — 28 Feb 2009
Why they decided to do these movies instead of bringing back the series, I will never know. These movies have just not been that funny, and I feel that there still is no real conclusion to the story. They tried to rush a conclusion by having Fry and Leela confess their love for each in the last minute of the movie, but it just felt forced.
This is their last project, and it just didn't feel like they put much effort into it. The pointless propaganda wasn't funny and annoying as well. I understand that they were making fun of Ecofeminists during the movie, but it seemed that they were trying push environmentalism on the audience.
This was fine when it was just random 30 minute episodes. Besides, Ecofeminism is one of the most ridiculous enviromentalist philosophies around. While, I did laugh at some points. Overall, this movie was a disappointing conclusion.
