Review of Futurama: Bender's Game (2008) by Josh G — 21 Jan 2010
Let down from the last one. Some good running jokes about alternative energy, parodies of "Mazes And Monsters" and "Lord Of The Rings", but it just took too long to get to the world inside Benders imagination, and even after it did, it kinda lacks. "Bender's Big Score" was the heist movie and "Beast With A Billion Backs" was the love story(and a very, very clever one), and Bender's Game(A play on Ripley's Game) is the Fantasy film, where the sci-fi heroes of Futurama find themselves in a Mythological Mideval Wonderland, according to the Professor "a world like ours, but where everyone beleives in crazy magic and hoo-doo instead of science, like Kansas.". I think I got the jokes and the references, but it just wasn't that good.
The next movie "Into The Green Yonder" is in title a play on Herzog's sci-fi mocukementary " The Wild Blue Yonder", and it's their last, so fingers crossed.
