Review of Futurama: Bender's Game (2008) by James M — 02 Jan 2013
Bender's Game. Funny title for a pretty funny movie. That's about all I can say about this movie though: it's funny. Well, that and "it had potential." My main problem with Bender's Game is that it takes nearly an hour for them to arrive in the fantasy world, which would seem to me to be the main point of the movie.
Everything up to then is pretty much exposition and is sort of...repeated, I guess, when they arrive in Cornwood. I mean, I'm not one for the enforcement to adhere to standard structure, but the lack of it didn't really work in this case.
Paired with a quick and fairly unsatisfying ending, this problem produces a funny, but not altogether sound experience. Also, I don't like how they keep bringing Nibbler in to the plots, further complicating his and his species' role in the series.
Overall, I guess I didn't even really like the plot. So much for this incoherent review. 7/10.
