Review of Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007) by Matt J — 29 Apr 2008
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie when I first saw the commercial for it. I had high hopes since I'm a big fan of the TV series. After watching it my opinion is that it didn't live up to the standard set by the original.
It felt like a drawn-out episode that tried too hard to make itself compelling. That's not what the show was about. The whole premise of introducing a new race of naked aliens who sniff out (literally) and steal people's personal info seemed like a stretch - even for Futurama.
There were some redeeming qualities of this flick but they were out-weighed by the overly intertwining story. I had figured out the ending before it was explained what was going on throughout the entire movie.
It could've been better but I'm glad I took the time to watch it. Despite this film's flaws I recommend any Futurama fan see it.
