Review of Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007) by Ted — 10 Aug 2008
Futurama, the television show, is one of the best animated series out there. The unique and imaginative humor of Matt Groening, et al is given a nearly limitless backdrop with the setting of 1,000 years in the future.
Unfortunately, Futurama the Movie contains about as much humor and cleverness of a half-hour-long episode spread out over 88 minutes. The plots stalls, and the repeated gimmicks become mundane. If I wasn't such a big fan of the show, I probably would have turned this movie off about half-way through and found something better to do, but instead I toughed it out and found no reward for my efforts.
I'll go so far as to say that this movie is not recommended or necessary for Futurama enthusiasts.
