Review of Futurama: Bender's Big Score (2007) by Ryan V — 09 May 2012
Futurama evaded cancellation and returned with a series of direct-to-DVD movies. This first one involves the Planet Express Crew getting suckered by a cabal of intergalactic e-mail scammers. A formula for time travel is eventually uncovered and the ramifications threaten to destroy the space/time continuum.
The gang's attempt to stop the scammers from abusing time travel is laced with many nods to old episodes of the Futurama TV show. I greatly enjoyed Bender's Big Score since I was already a fan of the program, but neophytes may be better served with catching a few reruns before they delve into this film.
