Review of Fury (2014) by Joseph O — 24 Mar 2015
A movie that I feel tries to feel like it is anti-war, with some brutal and quite appropriate depictions of the way some soldiers in WW2 acted, but unfortunately stumbles. The ending portion of the movie, while dramatic, feels like they tried to do what Saving Private Ryan did but in terms of tone/effect, it undermined a lot of the feeling that the rest of the movie supported.
Had that final battle felt a little less effective and a bit more Pyrrhic, I think it could have been a very good movie.
