Review of Fury (2014) by Jerry C — 17 Mar 2015
Add this to the list of movies that are a) superior, excellent, gripping, well told and b) completely overlooked by the entire world (The Quick & The Dead remains my favorite film that fits this criteria, and Fury just moved way up there).
Never have I seen war-weariness more achingly portrayed, or the hell of combat depicted in a manner more grisly and random manner, or the quality of leadership and fatherly/brotherly concern displayed in such a glory.
There are three distinct setpieces that grip your throat, and fittingly, tear it out at the end. What a shame that history will forget this one. It deserves so much better.
