Review of Fury (2014) by Dmitri M — 17 Mar 2015
Top Movies of 2014 - #8.
Fury is a movie about 5 guys, played by Brad Pitt, Michael Pena, Shia Lebeouf, Logan Lerman and Shane Walsh Jon Bernthal, who are the crew of the Fury, a Sherman tank in World War 2. In its first 2 acts, it's a tale about the bond between the 5 guys, helping Logan Lerman's character make the hard choices in war and the crimes committed by both sides of the war. These 2 acts, while good and helps set the tone for the final act, aren't what sticks with you, it is the final act. In the final act, the 5 guys are stranded in a road in Germany and have to hole up and defend the road from an entire battalion of SS soldiers. What makes this act so great is that it's about kicking a lot of ass, and holy crap did they kick a lot of ass. For about an hour they take out what seems to be hundreds of Nazis in a long, bloody, exciting and just really cool to watch scene. If there's anything I'll be watching this movie again for is just that finale which was bloody amazing. Emphasis on bloody.
