Review of Fury (2014) by Alexander S — 05 Sep 2016
April, 1945. War. German forces fight to the last breath and their vehicles are much more advanced. The main hero is a tank Fury and it's crew of five. The commander "Wardaddy" (played by Brad Pitt) is a complicated character and you sympathize with him all movie. Very religious person and aimer on Fury "Bible" played by Shia LaBeouf . Mexican pilot "Gordo" ( played by Michael Peña) and technician "Coon-Ass"( played by Jon Bernthal ). They all have been throught hell. First, in Africa then in France and now in Germany. But in previous battle they have lost their radioman and now they have been given a new crewman - young guy Norman (played by Logan Lerman) who haven't even seen the insides of the tank before. He refuses to kill and in circumstances of war tries to find his courage.
This movie represents a great look on all the violence and ugliness of war. Very special part of the movie are perfomances from actors. A fantastic combination of personalities creates an unbelievable chemistry every time on the battlefield which brings empathy for main characters. One of the best perfomances from Brad Pitt I have ever seen. Shia LaBeouf redeemed himself by this performance, I couldn't recognize him first 10 minutes. All others give strong perfomances which make this movie better. But the best part of the movie are actual battles. The "Tiger" scene is unbelievable. Set pieces are made in a realistic tone with feel of every shot and explosion which provides an amazing atmosphere of World War two.
David Ayer created very realistic and strong movie with great action using awesome special effects.
