Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Taloot B — 31 Jul 2015
The Fast and Furious franchise continues to deliver the best bang for buck value this side of Walker Diesel Rock. As always, the acting is hammy and the sentimentality abundant, but it's all done with such heart.
The set-pieces get better and better, culminating in some excellent, imaginatively shot man-to-man combat set pieces which exemplify just how far this series has come - from car racing machismo to all-out frontline warfare.
For me, not quite as elegant as the 6th entry, which was completely spectacular - but a very close contender for best in the series. A genuinely touching close, with a tastefully edited montage of the late Paul Walker moments, brings this thrill ride of easy-to-digest proportions to an end.
I look forward to the eighth instalment.
