Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Howard B — 19 Dec 2015
When it is screaming in your face with insanely inplausable stunts, climactic showdowns and zany comedy, Furious 7 is at it's best and really quite entertaining. As physics-defying stunts unfolded the cinema audience were laughing with entertainment, but it felt like an in-joke we're all invited to rather than a film taking itself seriously.
The problem is the, admittedly less important , parts between where poor dialogue and story remind us there isn't much motivation or sense to why any of this is happening anymore. If you can turn your brain off and just watch for the spectacle then you'll have fun, but it's all easily forgotten once you leave.
