Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Ben T — 18 Aug 2015
I was never that into the fast and furious franchise, the only one I had seen before this was the fifth one and which was okay but had some great action scenes. Fast and Furious 7 is a great film and I'm so surprised to be saying that.
This film was so entertaining and one of the most fun action movies of the year. The action scenes in this movie were amazing, there was this brilliant action scenes where they drive cars out of a plane and then parachute on to the road and we get an amazing car chase.
The actors all work together really well and they actually do feel like a family. Jason Statham was a brilliant villain, he's so charismatic and a really great villain. Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Michelle Rodriquez are all pretty good.
They don't give Oscar worthy performances, but they are decent. As I already said Jason Statham is great as I Dwayne Johnson, he's so charismatic, the only problem is he isn't in it enough.
Kurt Russell is absolutely brilliant in the movie, he's great in every scene he is in. This is a really stupid movie, it's a movie where people can ride a car off a cliff and survive, or where a character can get hit in the face with a spanner and survive.
Unfortunately the first 30 minutes are a bit boring and the drama didn't work too well. That's really my only problem though as without a doubt the best part of this film is the ending, it brilliantly handles Paul Walkers very sad and tragic death and is a very emotional and brilliant ending.
This is a really silly and very fun movie that you should see even if you aren't a fan of the franchise like I was. B+.
