Review of Furious 7 (2015) by Edwin R — 13 May 2017
Slightly diminishing returns since 5 but again another enjoyable instalment in this franchise. I think where this film falls down slightly is Jason Statham's villain. It just feels like a step too far and a slight jumping of the shark by including the Stath.
He also doesn't really ever feel like the main antagonist as the team are fighting on multiple fronts again with Stath popping up as an inconvenience throughout. His best scenes come early on withThe Rock.
This is another area the film falls down as one of its most entertaining characters is in hospital for most of the runtime. Still this film is entertaining another team dynamic is still there albeit slightly diminished with characters not returning from previous instalments.
Paul Walkers send off at the end is a nice touch and such a shame the actor is no longer with us.
