Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Quentin M — 22 Nov 2007
I'm not sure why this film is "an imaginary" biography. It doesn't even seem worth it to attach Diane Arbus' name to it other than for P.R.'s sake. The film will probably alienate die-hard Arbus fans, and people who aren't familiar with her work (like me) just won't give a damn.
Also, I was hoping for it to be more twisted that it actually was... A bit of a let-down on that front.
