Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Emily M — 13 Dec 2007
This movie really surprised me. Robert Downey Jr. and Nicole Kidman were supurb. It made me want to learn more about Diane Arbus. I related to the tensions between being a mother/wife and an artist. It illustrated well how difficult it can be to merge the two worlds, if at all.
It may have seemed bizaare to some, but frankly, the inner world of the artist is boundless and needs to be fearless and open to all experiences of the mind, body and soul, to truly create. That is the main message here.
