Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Seb A — 01 Jan 2008
FIrst I'd like to say that Nicole Kidman portaying Diane Arbus is laughable. That being said, I still had fairly high expectations for this film. They weren't met. Sure, it was filmed thoughfully and the color was beautiful (kudos to the Production Designer and DP).
The relationship with Lionel completely hijacked the film and, for a person who was so extraordinary, the portrayal was bland and naive. Robert Downey Jr. was excellent - which was the only saving grace.
