Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Jeremy W — 01 Apr 2008
At first I was skeptical, knowing this film was not an accurate account of Arbus' life, but an illusion produced to show what it may have been like inside her head. After finally swallowing my pride to see it, I am pleased to say this film is VERY worthwhile.
It didn't put Arbus in the gutters, nor did it put her on a pedestal. It was pure fiction with Arbus as the lead in a beautifully twisted situation.
