Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Audrey-Kim H — 22 May 2008
Blew my mind. Reminiscent of Sally Potter films. The great speed-talking improvising genius of Robert Downey Jr. is on mute on this one to let the physical genius of Robert Downey Jr. shine as it had in Chaplin. His entire characterization is in the way he walks, holds props and those brown pools called eyes. There is no wondering why the imaginary version of Diane Arbus falls in love with him, and the ending is so poetic and fitting that I couldn't get my daughter to stop crying for an hour.
Go down the rabbit hole.
