Review of Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006) by Dave R — 13 Sep 2008
Oddball fictional account of photographer Arbus' transformation from frustrated housewife to independent artist. The trigger is the arrival of a mysterious masked stranger who moves in to the apartment upstairs.
The development of their relationship is the focus of this piece and the strong leads lend credibility to a seriously far-fetched premise. It's arguably too distant to be totally involving but is worth a watch nonetheless.
