Mostly funny, but also feels like an odd mis-step; this is a distractingly navel-gazing movie. Sandler plays a variation of the man-chld he always plays, but with a more dramatic bent; and he's actually quite good in the role.
Alas, the movie around him meanders too much, lacking much focus and ultimately bites off more than it can chew.
