The characters aren't the type that you see. It's meta that we're dealing with actors here, but the emotional depth being considerable is jokes. The characters can be simplified to assholes douchebags and sluts. It's not rocket science: hey let's get some big name funny people together and name a movie as such but wait! let's get some emotion story line and NOT make it funny.
Lame.
