This is clearly the work of a director in transition. Which is, of course, the problem. Those looking for serious drama will be turned off by Apatow's trademark raunchy humor, which, frankly, is getting old.

Those looking for that raunchy humor will be let down entirely as it's really not a major component of the film. Sandler plays the role as a cross between the genial-idiot-boy humor you've come to expect with a dusting of his brilliant work in "Punch-Drunk Love".

And, at TWO HOURS AND 27 MINUTES--this film is effing interminable. Rogen and Hill prove that while they're still one-note actors, at least they can play the note in a different key.
