Review of Funny Girl (1968) by Dawn M — 23 Sep 2007
The first time I saw this movie in my early teens, I got goosebumps. I fell in love with Omar Sherif just like everyone else who ever watched this film, but it was Barbara that stole my heart that day.
I found out later that it was her first movie, and every time I watch it, I'm in awe of that fact. Her performance is perfect and her voice has never been better. I'm not a die-hard Babs fan. Her voice can be irritating, but it can also be magical.
It just takes that one perfect song, one note, and you realize she sings with the angels. In this movie, she truley does. Watch it and see for yourself. Pure tinggelly magic.
