Barbara Streisand can ACT?
Sometimes I wonder what happened to her musical direction. She actually sings extremely well and with the class of a good ol' American musical. It really saddens me to compare her current endeavors to this - she has a voice, but her music genre is so blase.
I do wish this film wouldn't hark so much on her "lack of being beautiful" because believe it or not - she isn't ugly. But I guess the unique Jewish nose with her harsh New Jersey style accent is supposed to account for the ugly side.
Regardless, I heart musicals and this one does just what I need to get away.
