Review of Funny Girl (1968) by Janice L — 18 Aug 2010
Warm and heartbreaking, you truly care about the characters flaws and all. Streisand is luminous and Omar Sharif is impossibly sexy, the songs though are not particularly catching (except Don?t Rain On My Parade, which I had no idea was going to be in it).
It is a better film than it is a musical. Still the last shot of Barbara Streisand in the black dress is breathtaking and deservedly iconic.
