This is one of those movies that you just can't comfortably recommend to anyone, but it sure had an impact on me. It made me feel uncomfortable, and was very thought-provoking. As someone who has frequently sought out the dubious entertainment of slasher and hyperviolent movies, it was especially unsettling.

The remake is basically a shot-by-shot reconstruction of this, and is fine so far as that goes, but I prefer this one.
