Review of Funny Games (1997) by Countess N — 01 May 2009
Great Austrian thriller and not so predictable. This film may cause some irritation because of the very long time the camera is fixed on one and the same angle but then again this only increases the suspense. I didn't like the fact that the director fools the audience by rewinding a scene but to be honest: it's original, ingenious and never seen before. Well done Michael Haneke!.
Haven't seen the American version but I have the feeling that the original version is much better.
