Review of Funny Games (1997) by Tait W — 30 Jul 2013
I can't even begin to articulate how this movie made me feel....from the jarring soundtrack to the unapologetic displays of human violence to the uneasiness of being directly addressed by the antagonist (yes, the fourth wall is broken multiple times and it actually works in the film's favor), I can't help but discern from my very first experience with Haneke that this is what a true horror movie feels like.
Viewers should expect a perpetual sense of dread and uneasiness while watching this film that might not necessarily leave you after it's ended.
