Review of Funny Face (1932) by Eolapaloe Z — 30 May 2010
"Funny Face" is a beautiful film from the beginning with great choreography/sets/locations and gorgeous costumes carried by Audrey Hepburn's ridiculously tiny waist.
Her character, Jo, appeals to me but I feel an uncomfortable lack of Hepburn-Astaire chemistry considering their supposed mutual attraction. The feeling persisted and made the film quite disappointing for me.
I kept hoping to be won over, yet the musical numbers also wore me down. I still suggest this as a must-see. It may become one of your favorites (if it isn't already).
