Review of Funny About Love (1990) by Marco F — 19 Feb 2012
An effort to analyse a failure in relationships between a man and a woman in their 30s. The main issue the two try to deal with is the preoccupation with having a child. As year after year they fail to have one, they separate and return back to each other a little later, adopt a child and live happily ever after.
The director took out everything that gets in the way of the main problem line, alongside with the details that could have made the movie richer, leaving the audience alone with the 105 minutes of the same dismay and agony of breaking relationship, therefore, overall, the story is banal and at the same time lacks psychological credibility and action.
