Review of Funeral in Berlin (1966) by James C — 20 Sep 2008
A good solid action adventure in the Harry Plamer trilogy. Caine is as strong a lead as ever and Guy Hamilton (director of a few of the Bond movies in between directing this) takes the helm of director well here.
I always find the narrative a little too convoluted than necessary, (perhaps that might be down to not having read the books) but giveme a James Bond film any day. I have no trouble understanding those.
This outing is not quite as bleak as Ipcress File but then not quite as upbeat as the next film Billion Dollar Brain but it fits nicely in the middle with an intriguing enough plot.
