Review of Fun with Dick and Jane (2005) by Deb S — 27 Mar 2010
Jim Carrey (Dick) plays a suburban dad and husband working for a large corporation who thinks he is being promoted to a better job. However the company folds, while Jack McCallister (Alec Baldwin), well cast as the corrupt corporate CEO, unloads his stocks, and gets away scott-free.
Dick is left out there to take the embarrassment, while all the employees are now unemployed, with no pension fund to speak of. Jane (Téa Leoni) has already quit her job as a travel agent, assured of her husband's terrific new spot in the company, so now they are both jobless.
After the furniture, the car, and even the lawn gets sold or repossessed, Dick and Jane look for ways to make ends meet and decide to turn to a life of crime in order to get their life back. Fun and Amusing times ensue.
